Report on Educational tour to Gujrat
An educational journey is about enabling students to
construct knowledge through a meaningful encounter with new cultures, without
diluting their fun and excitement or restricting their wandering, curious
minds.
To Provide exposure to the
students, Ahlcon International School organized a 4 days Educational
tour to Vadodara, statue of unity,
Unesco world heritage site Pavagarh and Ahmadabad
(Gujrat) for class XI from 29th Septemberr to 2nd October
2019 . 65 students along with 7 teachers
embarked upon their journey to the majestic city of Ahmedabad.
The journey began with a
visit to the ISRO Space Research center. There were various informative models
and exhibits and the students were shown a 3D documentary by NASA. After
that , the students visited the Sabarmati Ashram- the house of Mahatama Gandhi.
It was a simple yet serene place to spend time at. The Ashram was situated on
the bank of the Sabarmati river.
Day two started early for a 3 hour
bus ride from Ahmedabad to Vadodara, where the students went to
Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site
with the royal architecture, located around the historical city of Champaner.
Day three was set
for the visit to the great Statue of
Unity, a statue of Indian politician
and independence activist Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, located on a river island facing the Sardar Sarovar Dam on river Narmada and is the world's tallest statue with a height of 182 metres. Below the statue is a grand
museum with displays the life of Sardar Patel with giant models. A lift goes to
the top of the statue where the view of the river is breathtaking.
On day four, the
students visited the EME Temple which is a run by Indian Army Authorities in
Vadodara and Sayaji Bagh which is
considered as one of the biggest gardens in India. It had a giant floral clock,
diverse wildlife and Baroda museum and picture gallery to name a few major
attractions. Students had a wonderful time exploring the nook and corner of the
park on a joy train. By then, it was time to say goodbye to Vadodara and gear
up to go to Ahmedabad for the return flight to Delhi. All in all, this trip was
a fun filled learning experience for the students and everyone enjoyed a great
deal. As it has been rightly said,
“Travel and change of place impart new vigour to the mind”.
Report on Trip to Mashobra, Shimla
Our school organised Rocksport Residential Camp in the summer vacations for class XII from 27th June to 1st July ‘19at Wild Woods, Mashobra. It was an experiential learning holiday for school students. As nature keeps us grounded. Obstacles make us perseverant. Adventure makes us tough. At Camp Anubhav, these three forces combine to unleash the X factor in children and give them a power packed experience that pushes them to challenge themselves, enhance their confidence and acquire new skills.
Each day at camp was customized to bring out different aspects of a child’s personality and hone them. Children at the camp explored nature, visited villages to get a taste of rural lifestyle and lived independently, becoming self-reliant. They worked in groups and became more accountable and compassionate. Students experienced Mountain Biking, Survival training, Zip line, Rappling etc. They trekked through the undulating terrain, learned survival skills and cycled through the hills. They enjoyed fresh air, drank clear water from the gurgling streams and enjoyed mouth watering buffets at the quaint dining area.
